Irreplaceable family photos. It's so sad how much family history was lost in my Dads house. He is a firm believer in holding on to things and passing them down. I'm glad my Grandfathers Captains Wheel has been in my possesion. That would have been a very nice bit of history, lost...

Interesting blog and you seem to be pretty good with the camera. So what happened to the pictures and piano? I did not see where you indicate what actually happened. Was this part of the hurricane? I have scanned a lot of my old photos and keep them on a CD at work incase the house ever, God forbid, burns down. I also have several of them on a web site called Tribal Pages. Moreover, I have email several copies to relatives. I guess I have always had a fear of losing them.

I'm starting from the bottom up. As I get higher the story will make more sense as to what all this is from. But yes, the house in the photos was in hurricane Katrina. I have tons of pictures of Hwy. 90 in Gulfport and quite a few in Biloxi on Hwy. 90. This was the first week right after the storm so there was no one their to keep people out. Now they have road blocks and quarantines. Very hard to get through. I'll post those hopefully tomorrow night and maybe finish them the following day. Some devasting shots coming soon.

Update to Clinton...

I just re-read your comment and it's interesting because just yesterday I spoke to my Dad and he told me the anger is just now starting to set it. The anger at himself for having the technology to save these precious memories, just never seeming to get around to it. That's got to be hard to swallow.
